Mealtimes are nutritious for both the body and the spirit at Dayspring Villa. Each dining experience is not only a tasty and nutritious spread, it is also an opportunity to socialize, make connections, and build relationships with neighbors.
Crafted by Duet Dining, our assisted living dining menu includes three freshly prepared meals daily from an onsite professional chef that caters to our residents nutritional needs and taste buds. Coming together around the table is a meaningful way to engage with neighbors because it centers around one of the most basic and needed activities of sharing a meal. Sharing a meal taps into a deep source of connection, fostering trust and cooperation. Think about family meals and the conversations around the table, the memories created and connections formed.
Sharing freshly prepared meals is also important to meet the nutritional needs of our residents. Older adults are generally not as active, may have a slower metabolism, and process fewer nutrients from the food they eat. For these reasons, nutritional needs are even higher for older adults but it’s estimated that almost half of older Americans don’t get the nutrients needed for good health. Our carefully created dishes on the assisted living dining menu provide a healthy, nutritious and appetizing meal to fuel the full and active life of our residents.
Making sure you or your loved one is eating well can help you stay as healthy as possible, feel better and have more energy which in the long run can increase your amount of independence as you age. Eating consistent, nutritious meals can help reduce the risks of heart disease, stroke, type two diabetes, bone loss, some cancers and anemia as well as help to reduce blood pressure and lower cholesterol. Eating well provides the body with the energy it needs to use throughout the day which supports you to move more and exercise and could help control and maintain your weight.
Meal times are filled with conversation and connection with neighbors, nutritious, fresh and delicious foods that our residents love. There are snacks and special culinary events to keep the variety and fun in mealtime as well and each resident can also keep their unique snacks in their private kitchenette or contribute their favorite recipes to share with the community.
